Who Do You Serve?

This is a very familiar passage of scripture that simply states, I don’t care what others are doing around me. I am determined to live my life out serving the most high God, and I’m not just doing it alone, but I am bringing my whole house and everyone who is willing to listen with me. This scripture stresses the words ME, MY and WE, and when I look at these words it says I must first have a relationship with God, then I can share it with my family. After it is shared then all of us as a body of believers can worship and serve the God of host in Spirit and in truth. So this pushes me to teach others that Jesus is the only way to the Father. This pushes me to teach others that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. This pushes me to teach that if we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all other things will be added unto you. These messages and so many more are not only going to be stated but lived out each and everyday for the world to see. We must strive to not only be the salt and light in our own home but also in the world. Christ did not save us to say nothing or show nothing. He chose us for a work in His Kingdom and we must do it until night comes when no man can work anymore.

Joshua 24:15

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites.”

I am ashamed to say it but the truth is what we all need to hear. It took me too long to get to this point of sharing this Great God with others, and I was being wishy washy with my family. My kids saw me one way at church and another way at home. That has left an impression in their mind which still perplexes them today. Sometimes I think they got it and then other times I’m left wondering if they have truly developed that personal relationship with God.  You see I see them being wishy washy too just like I was.  So I keep striving to let my light shine so my family and others can get to know this faithful God we serve. I don’t want my family and others around me to take as long as I did because each day we are getting closer and closer to the day when Christ is coming back.

What are you doing right now? Are you being wishy washy or are you sharing the love of God to your family and others? Don’t worry if it took you a long time to get it together like me. Just keep being the salt and light because the time has not come yet so we still have time to bring others into this family of believers.
