Watch the Company You Keep

As a Christian it is important you watch who you surround yourself with. It is important for you to watch who you get advice from. You should know by now that since you are a part of “The Called”, you cannot associate yourself with everyone. I’m not saying walk around with your nose in the air. Don’t bring your pride into the picture, but do be selective about the company you keep. We must always have our spiritual antennas up and alert so we can spot the enemy who has come to confuse, destroy, steal and kill you. You must not entertain strangers unaware. You must pray for God to give you discernment and wisdom to know if people were placed in your path for you to help or to destroy you.

Psalms 1: 1-2

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

There is a difference as you know and sometimes if you don’t know the difference, you will find yourself acting just like that person you thought you were to help. For example, if their mind set about life is low then you will find yourself thinking low like them. Before you know it your dreams and the things you set out to do in your life have evaporated. You will find yourself less with God and more with that person. If you see this happening in your life, then you know that this person was sent to suck all the life out of you. As a Christian we must surround ourselves with others who delight in the things of the Lord. Those that will help you pray. Those that will give you advise from the word of God. These people have your best interest in their heart. This type of person delights in the Lord and tries to live a righteous life with God as the head. Nothing and nobody should separate you from the love of God and all that He has for you, but if you find yourself leaving the word to do things that are not of God, then it is time to let that thing or person go.  Trust God to lead you to the people He wants you to help and to those that will help you.
