Love Always

John 13:34

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”

The world does not understand this simple verse that was commanded for us to do. Why? because the Holy Spirit does not dwell in them. If the Holy Spirit dwells in you, then you should love one another. This scripture didn’t say just love those who love you back. It said to love one another and that means everybody regardless if they love you or not. Christ wants us to be more like Him with each passing day, and we must never forget what He did for us because of love. He sacrificed Himself for us and that was because of His love for us. He didn’t sacrifice Himself for only the Jews, but He gave his life so everyone would have the opportunity to have eternal life with Him. Now this is an act of love to the highest degree that Christ showed the entire world regardless if they loved Him or not. This is the type of love we must show one to another. We might disagree with what they do as a human and  want them to pay for their wrongdoing, but still we must love them because Christ has said it in His word and has demonstrated this kind of love that transcends economic backgrounds, race and religion. We must not let hatred enter into our hearts and minds because hate will do nothing but bring destruction, anxiety and trouble. We must exhibit love one to another and pray for the Lord to fight our battles to those who spitefully use us or hate us. With genuine love in our hearts for one another, things can change.
