Hide His Word In Your Heart

Psalm 119:11

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

This is a scripture I share with the kids in my Wednesday night classes all the time. That we should study the word of God so it can become a part of our DNA. When God’s word becomes a part of your everyday living, then you start learning what God loves and what He hates. When you study His word, you start building a relationship with Him. Did you know that God can talk to you through His word? He can reveal certain things to you through the scripture. When you hide His word in your heart, it makes it hard to just openly sin against Him because one, you have developed this relationship with Him that you don’t want to disappoint Him. Two, you don’t want to give satisfaction to the enemy you know means you no  good. Three, if you are a disciple of Christ then your life should be a walking example that exemplifies the God in you.  So as believers we should hide the word of God in our hearts so that His word can shine on the outside of our lives through our everyday walk with Him. We want to hide the word of God in our hearts so we can learn to sin less and learn to glorify the Master more and more everyday.

People of God, I want you to stop just reading God’s word and start understanding God’s word so you can start walking, talking and living God’s word for the whole world to see. No one should wonder if you are a disciple of Christ, they should know that you are a disciple of Christ! Can people tell you are a child of the King or are they guessing?
