For His Glory

Matthew 6:3

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,”

Now why did God give us these words in Matthew 6:3? He said this because He doesn’t want us to get caught up in doing things for man’s praise. He wants us through our giving to give Him glory and praise. He wants us to be thankful unto Him and bless His name because He is good and kind and worthy to be praised and adored. There is are other scriptures that say, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” Colossians 3:23, and Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.” When we do anything, it is suppose to be for God’s Glory, not for our own glory. You should want people to see Christ shining through you, so He can receive the Glory. You should want people to know that what you do is all because of the Christ that lives in you. You never want to take the glory or fame. If you don’t know, let me inform you that you wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for God. God is the reason why you are breathing and alive today. I always say there is no me without Christ in my life. My life is not worth anything without Christ in it. This is the attitude and posture we should take as Christians because God is the one that deserves the Glory and Honor. He is worthy to be praised and adored. Let’s remember that when you give or is a blessing to someone and someone recognizes that it came from you, you should say I give all glory to God!

So when God tells us “But when you do your giving, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,” in Matthew 6:3, He doesn’t want us to get caught up in pride and looking for people to give us accolades for doing something that the Holy Spirit prompted us to do. To be honest with you, when God gives you accolades, it last longer than man’s accolades any day of the week. You cannot beat God’s giving. When He blesses you, you feel peace and a satisfaction that is really indescribable because He is an indescribable God. His blessings are unmatchable because He is an unmatchable God. You can’t even comprehend what God has done in your life because He is beyond comprehension.

So when you do something for someone, don’t look for man’s blessings because they are not worth anything but look for God’s blessings because if you did it for His glory in secret, He will reward you openly and you will feel so gratifying because of His love for you.
